AAFCPAs’ #GivingTuesday Match Donates Over $31K to Charities

AAFCPAs participated again this year in #GivingTuesday, on November 27th, 2018, a global day dedicated to giving! Collectively, the firm and its team members donated $31,778 to mission driven nonprofits!

HOW DID AAFCPAs TAKE PART IN THE SPIRIT OF GIVING?

  • Extra incentives to give! For #GivingTuesday, AAFCPAs and our company-sponsored Charitable Foundation matched employee gifts 1:1 (100%) to any charitable nonprofit 501(c)(3) during a 3-week window in November leading up to Giving Tuesday. Our employee match is typically 50%, so this enhanced match encouraged employees to be as generous as possible!
  • Variety! In addition to gifts of cash, team members organized donation drives collecting supplies for area communities in need, including: new and used blankets for sheltered animals at the MSPCA-Angell; essentials for a family as part of the Home for Little Wanderers Big Wishes Gift Drive; and educational toys for some of Greater Boston’s youngest children in need.
  • Visual inspiration and fun! AAFCPAs constructed a Giving Tree wall display in our Westborough office which features individual leaves representing employee/firm donations to charitable organizations.

About #GivingTuesday
Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, #GivingTuesday provides a shift in focus from the widely promoted shopping events of Black Friday and Cyber Monday to the charitable giving season that comes with the holidays and the year-end deadline for charitable tax deductions.
Total donations on Giving Tuesday were estimated to be nearly $400 million in the United States alone, according to tentative estimates. Giving Tuesday is about ordinary people coming together doing extraordinary things. In 2018, AAFCPAs joined millions of people from across the globe in taking part in the spirit of giving!
