AAFCPAs’ Dan Stanhope Attains Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional
AAFCPAs’ Partner Dan Stanhope, CPA, MSA has been awarded the Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional (CCIFP) credential issued by the Institute of Certified Construction Industry Financial Professionals (ICCIFP).
Dan was awarded the CCIFP credential in recognition of his earned expertise in the complex specialty of construction accounting and financial management.
The rigorous credentialing exam verified Dan’s construction industry knowledge in the specific domains of:
- accounting and reporting;
- income recognition methods;
- budgeting and planning;
- risk management;
- taxes;
- human resources;
- legal; and
- information technology.
Dan is well prepared to assist construction clients in meeting the profitability challenges ahead as information moves more quickly and construction industry financial management becomes more complex. This credential demonstrates that Dan keeps himself immersed in the many different revenue recognition rules and cost allocation methodologies applicable to contractors. He advises clients on challenges and opportunities associated with change orders, liquidated damages, early completion bonuses, allocation of indirect costs, joint venture accounting, and more. He works closely on clients’ behalves with bankers, lawyers, sureties, and other professionals.
Dan is a thought-leader and regular contributor to The Professional Contractor, a magazine for construction industry decision makers. He is also an active member of the Associated Subcontractors of Massachusetts and the Construction Financial Management Association. Dan thoughtfully shares his time, enthusiasm, and expertise with a variety of nonprofit boards in the Central Massachusetts region. He is a board member and treasurer of the Central Mass Housing Alliance; a board member of the Home Builders and Remodelers Association of Central MA; and a board member of the Marlborough Retirement Board.
