Camila Gonzalez Whalen, CPA Promoted to Tax Director
Camila joined AAFCPAs in January 2022 as a leader in the firm’s Private Client Services practice, working extensively with high-net-worth individuals, their families, and closely held businesses. She provides tax planning, compliance, and advisory solutions to business owners and entrepreneurs, as well as estates, trusts, and private foundations. Camila, a native of Puerto Rico, lives in Georgia and appreciates AAFCPAs’ Work from Anywhere policy! Fun fact: Camila was on a local kids’ cooking show when she was a teenager. Kevin Cassidy, CPA, MSA, Matthew Lougee, CPA, MSA, and Tomás A. Pueyo, Jr., CPA, MSA Promoted to Tax Manager
Kevin Cassidy specializes in providing tax advice to C Corporations, S Corporations, partnerships & their owners. He has extensive experience in both public accounting as well as 3+ years’ experience in the corporate tax department of Boston Scientific. Kevin got his bachelor’s from Cornell University and an MSA from Boston College Carroll School of Management. Fun Fact: When not providing tax solutions, Kevin enjoys ultimate frisbee. Matt Lougee is a leader in AAFCPAs’ tax practice, with extensive experience providing tax advice to private, closely-held businesses and their owners in a variety of industries, including: construction, manufacturing & distribution, and retail. He advises clients on year-end and multi-year tax planning so they may understand how business and personal decisions may impact their tax strategy. Matt earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and MBA from the Isenberg School of Management. Fun Fact: Matt’s first job was as Statistician, reporting stats and scores to the Boston Herald, Boston Globe, and Fox News and preparing the game day set for the North TV broadcast crew. Tomás Pueyo has extensive experience providing tax advice to complex C corporation, S corporation, and partnerships. He is a leader in AAFCPAs’ Cannabis Practice, advising operators on the feasibility and applicability of tax credits, sales and use tax filings, and compliance with the IRS’ 280E tax code. He excels at explaining strategies to clients in a way they can understand so they may take steps appropriate to their respective tax planning strategy. Tomás is a member of AAFCPAs’ Tax Training Committee dedicated to keeping fellow team members up to date on the constantly evolving changes in tax code. Fun Fact: His skill as a trainer of clients and colleagues is no surprise, as Tomás was an accounting tutor (and Male Scholar Athlete of the Year) at New England College.
