Carla McCall CPA CGMA Named AICPA Vice Chair, and Among Most Powerful Women Accounting
Boston, MA (June 7, 2023) – AAFCPAs, a preeminent 300-member CPA and consulting firm specializing in tax, assurance, accounting, wealth management, business process and IT advisory solutions, is pleased to announce Carla McCall, CPA, CGMA, Managing Partner at AAFCPAs, has been elected as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). The association represents 431,000 members and students in 130 countries. Carla enters this role trailing a term as Chair of the Audit and Finance Committee.
As the new Vice Chair, she will act as chairman-nominee of the Board of Directors and will preside in the absence of the Chairman at meetings of the Institute, the Council, and the Board of Directors. She will also be responsible for recommending appointments to all volunteer groups.
2023’s Most Powerful Women in the Accounting Profession
AAFCPAs is also pleased to announce that Carla has been named one of 2023’s Most Powerful Women in the Accounting Profession for the third time.
The award, now in its 11th year, was created by CPA Practice Advisor and is jointly administered by the AICPA and CPA Practice Advisor to promote and support the success of women leaders as part of its broader mission of sustaining the profession. Women are nominated by their peers, and a group of independent judges select the award recipients using the following criteria for candidates:

Throughout her 30+ year tenure in the industry, Carla has remained an influential voice of positive change within the accounting profession and in driving evolution and growth at AAFCPAs. She is recipient of numerous awards and recognitions including AICPA/CPA Practice Advisor Magazine’s Most Powerful Women in Accounting (2023, 2022, and 2020-2021). As Managing Partner at AAFCPAs, she put programs in place to provide all with the opportunity to advance their careers and balance their lives.
