Carla McCall Named in the 2024 Forbes Top 200 CPAs List
Boston, MA (May 2, 2024)—AAFCPAs, a preeminent 325+ employee CPA and consulting firm specializing in tax, assurance, accounting, wealth management, business process and IT advisory solutions, is pleased to announce that Carla McCall, CPA, CGMA, Managing Partner has been named to the 2024 Forbes Top 200 CPAs List. This inaugural list recognizes CPAs with the most impressive track records in their specialties, those who have broken barriers to emerge as leaders in their fields, those who have contributed to advancing the CPA profession, and those who have given back to society.
Nominees were chosen from a rigorous, multistage process that included evaluation and editorial research. From 1,000 eligible candidates identified by the organization’s review team, the top 200 were narrowed down using ten weighted categories including professional honors, influence in the profession, achievements, performance, thought leadership, and innovation. Those selected represent a variety of backgrounds, geographic regions, and specializations along with a superb track record and impeccable integrity.
Carla joined AAFCPAs in 1995 and, throughout her tenure, has remained an instrumental force in the company’s evolution, driving its ascension into a Top 100 firm along with its service expansion beyond core audit and tax to include managed accounting, wealth management, robotic process automation, data analytics, IT and cyber security, and system selection and implementation.
A vocal champion of the profession, Carla celebrates its resiliency and stature along with the variety of career paths and leadership opportunities it affords. Accolades include Most Powerful Women in the Accounting Profession by AICPA/CPA Practice Advisor Magazine (2020-2021, 2022, and 2023) and the National Managing Partner Elite List by Accounting Today (2020).
Her board leadership roles on the Massachusetts Society of CPAs and Vice Chair for AICPA have elevated her voice and moved her into a position to make a stronger impact on the profession. “This platform helps me celebrate what we do and how we do it while promoting the importance of good organizational leadership and innovation,” she explained. Both roles acted as a springboard in her career and provided a national platform to share her thoughts on the importance of a human-first culture and authentic leadership. They have also helped her tap into the future of the profession, its evolution, and expansion.
Carla is an active voice in the community and has written open letters on antiracism, women’s initiatives, and authentic leadership. She is a mentor to young professionals and serves nonprofits, so both may benefit from her knowledge and experience. Philanthropic roles have included the Women’s Network Advisory Board of the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce, Chair of the Financial and Governance Allocation Committee of the United Way, Leadership Mentor for the Center for Women and Business at Bentley University, Founding Board and Finance Committee Member for Strong Women, Strong Girls, Inc., and Board Member and Treasurer for SheGives Boston. Also holding deep personal meaning is her work with the Jordan Porco Foundation, whose mission is to promote mental health, prevent suicide, and create a message of hope for young adults.
