AAFCPAs’ John Buckley to Serve on Board of Worcester State Foundation
AAFCPAs Partner John Buckley, CPA, CGMA has been appointed and agrees to serve on the Board of Directors of Worcester State Foundation. John will serve as a fiduciary of the Foundation, providing strategic direction and financial advice to help the organization achieve its mission to promote the growth and progress of Worcester State University beyond what is possible with state funding.
John graduated from Worcester State University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. “It is my honor to have this service opportunity and donate my time and expertise to support the long-term sustainability of an institution that helped me obtain the required body of knowledge and develop the skills and abilities needed to a be successful business advisor.”
In 2011, John was awarded a Distinguished Alumni Award by Worcester State University. This honor is the highest non-degree recognition bestowed by the University on an alumnus or alumna. Awards are given in five distinct categories. John was awarded with Outstanding Young Alumnus Award.
John is the leader of AAFCPAs’ Educational Services practice, serving diverse academic and education services clients spanning colleges/universities, independent schools, special education schools, education services, charter schools and charter management organizations (CMOs). John is an ideal fit for the Board of the Foundation because he fully understands the nuances of the education industry and its particular business and operational challenges, including funding and regulatory issues.
