QuickBooks Desktop 2020 Service Discontinued
In a recent announcement, Intuit provided details about their discontinuation of QuickBooks Desktop 2020 service, effective May 31, 2023. This includes all 2020 versions of QuickBooks Desktop Pro, QuickBooks Desktop Premier, QuickBooks Desktop for Mac, and QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions 20.0. Other Intuit products are affected by the software discontinuation.
Those who didn’t upgrade QuickBooks Desktop 2020 by May 31 will not have access to live technical support for problem solving. Other integrations with QuickBooks, such as QuickBooks Desktop Payroll, QuickBooks Desktop Payments, and online bank feeds, may fail due to lack of critical security patches and updates that would usually come with this support.
AAFCPAs advises users to evaluate if QuickBooks is still the right solution before you simply upgrade the desktop application or migrate to QuickBooks Online. While QuickBooks Online is a great cloud solution, you may lose some features and functionalities. This transition presents an opportunity for you to consider the most effective application for managing your general ledger or other business processes.
