From The Desk of Jonathan Bloom
I often reflect on my role in helping clients navigate not just retirement but all of life’s many transitions—like changing jobs, welcoming kids or grandkids, or exiting their business. These moments carry both financial and emotional weight, and I aim to make these transitions as smooth as possible.
My goal is to support clients comprehensively—providing investment advice, retirement planning, tax planning, estate planning, and insurance guidance to help clients achieve their financial goals and navigate life’s transitions. Often, this means collaborating with my partners at AAFCPAs or introducing clients to external resources. At times, it’s simply about listening and reassuring clients that their long-term financial plan is solid.
Beyond my role in helping to develop a solid financial roadmap, I want my clients to feel confident and prepared with a smooth landing.
Life is more than just financial milestones; it’s filled with significant changes that impact our emotional and social lives. Major decisions often come with stress and uncertainty. Plans must adapt to life’s twists and turns and change alongside your evolving goals, interests, and lifestyles. I appreciate our team’s ability to connect clients with resources and networks that support those shifts, helping to ensure an engaged and fulfilling life both now and in retirement.
As I review my clients’ plans and they transition toward retirement, I think about my own retirement one day, which is in the distant future. Today, I visualize my dream retirement job as a golf course ranger, riding around leisurely in a golf cart, witnessing the good and bad shots and nudging people along. Jeanne and I enrolled the girls in golf lessons, which have been met with mixed results. Hopefully one day I can take them out golfing with me.
