E3 Intern Accelerator Program

Opportunities for Second-Year Community College Accounting Students: Professional Development, Networking, Mentorship, Training, and Paid Work Experience in Public Accounting.

Broadening opportunities for community college students.

AAFCPAs actively works with community college students to provide unique opportunities for entrance into the rewarding field of public accounting. Interns gain valuable hands-on experience and exposure to real world work environments along with mentorship that can provide both the knowledge and confidence you need to succeed.

E3: Experience, Elevate, and Excel

Our E3 Intern Accelerator Program provides opportunities specifically designed for second-year community college students in accounting. Benefit from professional development and networking opportunities, mentorship and guidance, access to training and resources, and paid hands-on work experience to advance your career pursuit in public accounting. By exploring various career paths, you can make the most informed decisions about your future goals and aspirations.

Our E3 Intern Accelerator Program includes:

  • A year-long rotation internship that provides hands-on exposure to audit, tax, and outsourced accounting roles and responsibilities.
  • A flexible work schedule to accommodate your class schedule and academic success.

Interns are paired with a professional mentor during each rotation, receiving hands-on experience in actual workflows and guidance within each service area. This is a paid internship.

After a year-long rotation, interns have the option to choose a department in which to focus their career—or they can maintain a broad perspective. They also enjoy continued internship status at AAFCPAs as they advance in their pursuit of a bachelor’s degree. Our goal is to help support a stable college-to-career pathway throughout their pursuit of a bachelor’s, master’s, and eventually CPA. Ultimately, the program can lead to preferred job placement and a full-time position at AAFCPAs. Interns are highly sought after for entry-level positions in public accounting, which earn highly competitive starting salaries.

Broadening Opportunities

The E3 Program, launched by AAFCPAs’ Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Council, partners with community colleges to promote accessible pathways for the exciting and upwardly mobile career of accounting. The program allows AAFCPAs to provide opportunities to a broader and more inclusive candidate pool of diverse talent, including minority students, first-generation college students, and adult learners.
