Julius N. Wakaba, CPA

Julius provides assurance and advisory solutions to sophisticated nonprofits with specialized accounting and reporting needs, including associations, research & policy organizations, and multi-service health & human services providers. He has extensive experience leading high-energy teams in the execution of efficient and seamless assurance engagements and offers valuable guidance to nonprofits that receive state and federal funding by ensuring their financial records adhere to government auditing standards. His expertise helps these organizations maintain compliance, secure their funding, and operate transparently, ultimately enhancing their ability to fulfill their mission and serve their communities effectively.

Julius also assists in navigating the complexities of tax-exempt status issues with the IRS. By providing strategic guidance on compliance, reporting, and documentation requirements, he helps clients recognize risks and opportunities associated with executive compensation, lobbying, related party transactions, and public support.

Julius is a past recipient of the firm’s partner-nominated Joel Aronson Character Award (2019), given annually to the AAFCPAs team member who best epitomizes the honorable character, work ethic, and client dedication of Joel Aronson, the Founder of AAF Wealth Management. Julius is a peer mentor to professional staff and an internal trainer on compliance with the Commonwealth’s regulations relative to the Early Education & Care industry. He has been serving clients with distinction since 2003. Julius, a native of Kenya, is proficient in English and Swahili.
