Patrick C. Coakley, MBA
Manager
Pat is a member of AAFCPAs’ specialized Employee Benefit Plan Audit & Consulting Practice, offering extensive expertise in the Department of Labor’s stringent rules and regulations for reporting and disclosure under ERISA. He supervises audits and advises plan sponsors on ERISA compliance requirements, including those associated with the administration of 401(k), 403(b), defined benefit, and health and welfare plans.
Pat schedules and supervises each aspect of the benefit plan audit to help ensure the process is efficient and minimally disruptive. He provides valuable input to improve operations and reduce risk, proactively communicating with plan sponsors, vendors, and third-party administrators to allow for adequate time to pull together requested documents. Pat further collaborates as appropriate with AAFCPAs’ audit and tax teams to ensure there are no duplicate requests for information. He closely monitors status and completion, ensuring client expectations are met and deliverables are provided on their agreed upon dates.
A firm-wide training instructor, he works with team members conducting ERISA audits. As a performance manager, he also provides new accountants at the firm with leadership and coaching as they navigate along their professional journey. Pat has served AAFCPAs clients since 2011.
