Tyler is a leader in AAFCPAs’ Entrepreneurial Tax practice and a member of the firm’s specialized Business Transaction Advisory practice, where he advises with closely held middle-market clients on proactive strategic tax planning and buy- and sell-side transactions. He advises business owners and stockholders on ownership and management transitions, offering strategic planning and long-term tax solutions.
Tyler helps closely held, family-owned businesses make informed tax decisions at every stage—from start-up to succession—so owners may protect their wealth and confidently plan for the future. He provides multi-year tax strategies that align business and personal financial goals, helping owners minimize tax burdens while maximizing opportunities. His guidance includes selecting the right entity structure, navigating tax law changes, leveraging federal and multi-state tax credits, and forecasting income and expenses to avoid surprises.
When it is time to transition ownership, Tyler works to ensure a smooth, tax-efficient transfer that preserves both financial security and the business’ legacy. He collaborates with AAFCPAs’ multidisciplinary team—including tax consulting attorneys, estate and trust specialists, and wealth advisors—to develop customized succession plans. This includes optimizing estate and gift tax strategies and integrating charitable giving. With a proactive approach, Tyler helps business owners achieve a well-planned, confident transition that aligns with their long-term goals.
As a performance manager, he ensures junior accountants have the skills and resources to excel in their career journey and meet the firm’s high standards of excellence in client service. With a strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively, Tyler provides guidance to clients and team members that is easy to understand and apply. Before joining the AAFCPAs team in 2019, Tyler gained six years of public accounting experience. He resides in Connecticut with his wife and kids and appreciates AAFCPAs’ Work from Anywhere policy.
