There were some fantastic pictures captured at AAFCPAs’ 2021 Holiday Party! Attendees brought their dance pants! To those who didn’t attend, we know this was a thoughtful and personal decision for you. We look forward to the future when we may celebrate together in person without trepidation. Happy Holidays!

AAFCPAs enthusiastically participated in the 9th Annual CPA Day of Service on June 7th, 2019, organized in collaboration with the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants (MSCPA).
Community Service is a core value of AAFCPAs, and the essence of our culture. Forty-five of AAFCPAs’ team members received their regular day’s pay while volunteering as a benefit designed to expose team members to service and to encourage participation in hope that their positive experience of the joy and satisfaction that comes through service will make it habit-forming.
“Volunteer days provide AAFCPAs team members with the feeling of fulfillment that comes from helping neighbors in need, which is what makes volunteering such a rewarding experience,” said Kerrie Dupré, founder and leader of AAFCPAs’ Volunteer Committee.

Teams of employees volunteered at AAFCPAs’ nonprofit client organizations:

Baypath Humane Society of Hopkinton, MA is an organization dedicated to providing shelter, care, humane treatment and loving homes for stray or unwanted companion animals.  AAFCPAs’ team will assist with maintenance and cleanup of the outdoor pens and wooded trails, and share our experiences with our networks to raise awareness of the ways Baypath is working to improve the lives of animals.
St. Francis House is the largest day shelter in Massachusetts. They are located in the heart of downtown Boston, and serve an average of 500 poor and homeless men and women a day, 365 days a year. AAFCPAs’ teams will assist in meal preparation and distributing clothing to guests.
Cradles to Crayons provides children from birth through age 12 who live in homeless or low-income situations with the essential items they need to thrive… at home, at school, and at play. AAFCPAs’ teams will volunteer in the Gifting Factory, helping to quality-check, sort, and package donations for distribution to the children served.
“The AAFCPAs’ motto: “great minds | great hearts” aptly describes our talented and compassionate team of employees, who are facilitators of AAFCPAs’ 10% Back to Nonprofits program,” said David McManus, Co-Managing Partner at AAFCPAs. “We relish the opportunity to dive in and get our hands dirty!”

AAFCPAs will again proudly participate in the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants’ (MSCPA’s) 8th Annual Day of Service on June 15th, 2018.  Community Services is a core value of AAFCPAs, and the essence of our culture.  Fifty five of AAFCPAs’ team members will receive a day’s pay to encourage their experience of the joy that comes through service.
Teams of AAFCPAs’ employees will volunteer at AAFCPAs’ nonprofit client organizations:

MSPCA-Angell

Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals – Angell Animal Medical Center (MSPCA-Angell) is a national and international leader in animal protection and veterinary medicine, and provides direct hands-on care for thousands of animals each year. Members of AAFCPAs’ animal loving team will volunteer their time at the organization’s Nevins Farm Animal Care and Adoption Center in Methuen, MA to help provide hands-on care to the organization’s many animals in residence. In addition, our team will build awareness among our networks about the many wonderful pets waiting for wonderful homes!

Mass Audubon

Mass Audubon’s Drumlin Farm Wildlife Sanctuary in Lincoln, MA is a working educational farm that raises livestock and poultry, grows crops, and produces hay for its animals—all within a 206-acre wildlife sanctuary. Our team will assist Drumlin Farm’s crops staff with harvesting their fresh, sustainability-grown produce in preparation for distribution at their on-location veggie stand, through their Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program, to restaurants, and at local farmers’ markets. Most importantly, our team will support our client Mass Audubon in building an important link to our local communities through a deeper understanding of sustainable agriculture techniques.

Baypath Humane Society

Baypath Humane Society of Hopkinton, MA is an organization dedicated to providing shelter, care, humane treatment and loving homes for stray or unwanted companion animals.  AAFCPAs’ team will assist in providing exercise and playtime for Baypath’s resident dogs and cats, and share our experiences with our networks to raise awareness of animal adoption, animal overpopulation, and pet care.

“Volunteer days provide AAFCPAs with rewarding and memorable opportunities to serve and contribute to the missions of the nonprofit clients that inspire us. They allow us to experience first-hand the enthusiasm of the people who turn programs into impact,” said Kerrie Dupré, founder and leader of AAFCPAs’ Volunteer Committee.  “In addition, these days of service take teamwork to a whole new level, and further foster strong bonds between the AAFCPAs family.”

“We provide all of our employees with one paid day of service per year so they may feel empowered to make community service a priority in their life,” said David McManus, co-managing partner at AAFCPAs. “The AAFCPAs’ motto: “great minds | great hearts,” reflects our 45 year legacy of genuine care for our community enriching others with our work in a way that ensures our lives are making a positive difference in the world.”

AAFCPAs Volunteer Day Collage

AAFCPAs proudly participated in the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants’ (MSCPA’s) 7th Annual Day of Service on June 15th.  Two teams of AAFCPAs’ staff volunteered with AAFCPAs’ client Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals – Angell Animal Medical Center (MSPCA-Angell) at the organization’s Nevins Farm location, and with Habitat for Humanity MetroWest/Greater Worcester Chapter (HFH MWGW) as an Operation Playhouse sponsor.

At Operation Playhouse, AAFCPAs employees honored a local veteran’s family at the company’s Westborough office. Under the supervision of HFW MWGW, the team designed, built and decorated a military-themed playhouse for Kaelyn (9) and Aubrey (6), whose dad proudly serves in the Marines. The firm also donated $2,500, covering the costs of material and staff support, and to further Habitat’s mission of building homes, communities and hope.

“Volunteer experiences allow us to see the world through different eyes,” said Kerrie Gondola, founder and leader of AAFCPAs’ Volunteer Committee.  “On this day, we got a glimpse into Kaelyn and Aubrey’s eyes as we unveiled their custom made, military-themed playhouse. Further, we are proud to honor their father Jon for his service.”

At Nevins Farm, AAFCPAs volunteers mucked stalls & barn cages, and helped Nevins’ staff relocate items into the Farm’s newly renovated loft space.

“Working manual labor on a farm today with 15 colleagues from AAFCPAs was an incredibly rewarding and memorable experience,” said Matthew Boyle, partner at AAFCPAs. “In addition to the welcome change of pace and scenery, were the MSPCA staff and volunteers who inspired us with their enthusiastic love of all animals, nature, and life.”

“We provide all of our employees with one paid day of service per year so they may feel empowered to make community service a priority in their life,” said David McManus, co-managing partner at AAFCPAs.

“The AAFCPAs’ motto: “Great Minds | Great Hearts,” reflects our 40+ year legacy of genuine care for our community enriching others with our work in a way that ensures our lives are making a positive difference in the world.”
