AAFCPAs participated in #GivingTuesday, on November 28th, 2017, a global day dedicated to giving! Collectively, the firm and its team members donated over $17,000 to mission driven nonprofits!
AAFCPAs constructed a Giving Tree wall display in our new Westborough office with individual leaves representing employee donations to charitable organizations. Some of these organizations included: Boston Children’s Hospital, Children’s Friend, Greater Worcester Community Foundation, Massachusetts Housing & Shelter Alliance, St. Francis House, Family Promise Metrowest, Project Hope, Christa McAuliffe Charter School, Tailored for Success, Nurtury Boston, Lazarus House Ministries, and many more.
“In response to employee donations, and AAFCPAs’ match, Easter Seals’ Assistive Technology Resource Center (ATRC) is able to purchase three pieces of state of the art technology that disabled persons can try before they buy,” said Carla McCall, AAFCPAs’ co-managing partner. “The nonprofit clients we serve, including Easter Seals, have a tremendously positive impact on the employees and culture of AAFCPAs. We have an incredibly dedicated team of 180+ charitable citizens, and we could not be more appreciative of their great minds, and great hearts!”
“Charitable giving is an important practice here at AAFCPAs, as evidenced by our 10% Back to Nonprofits Program,” added Dave McManus, AAFCPAs’ Co-Managing Partner. “It defines the spirit of our people, the work that unites us, and the essence of the AAFCPAs culture.”
Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, #GivingTuesday provides a shift in focus from the widely promoted shopping events of Black Friday and Cyber Monday to the charitable giving season that comes with the holidays and the year-end deadline for charitable tax deductions.
#GivingTuesday is about ordinary people coming together doing extraordinary things. In 2017, AAFCPAs again proudly joined millions of people from across the globe in taking part in the spirit of giving!
