AAFCPAs Named a 2026 ‘Best Place to Work’ by Boston Business Journal

Westborough, MA (May 23, 2024) – AAFCPAs, a preeminent CPA and consulting firm, is pleased to announce that its Managing Partner, Carla McCall, CPA, CGMA, was elected to serve as the new Chair of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and Co-Chair of the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants, which combines the strengths of the AICPA and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).
Carla’s selection to leadership of the world’s largest member organization for accounting professionals reflects her ongoing commitment to driving change within the industry. In her role, she will serve as a global advocate and voice of the profession, with a focus on three priorities she believes are core to the evolution of accounting:
- Value and Sustainability: Accounting has grown as a discipline to combine multiple aspects of business and an entrepreneurial mindset. This “power of AND” goes beyond tax and audit to encompass accounting and data science, accounting and law, accounting and international business, and a host of other disciplines that young professionals may explore.
- Innovation and Transformation: Carla underscores the importance of continuous improvement and technological advancement within the profession. Finance leaders are now central in driving innovation, leveraging technology, and providing data-driven insights to guide organizational decisions. She brought the power of automation and AI to AAFCPAs and will continue to promote use cases in the industry so that other firms can see what is possible.
- Inclusion and Opportunity: By prioritizing a human-first culture, Carla aims to create opportunities for entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship, fostering growth and inclusion within the profession. She promotes flexibility and mobility within business models, fostering inclusive cultures that let professionals explore various roles and find meaningful work.

During her one-year tenure as Chair, Carla will continue to lead AAFCPAs with her customary dedication and attentiveness. The knowledge she gains through her exposure to colleagues and contacts around the world will add new energy and insights to the vibrant AAFCPAs culture.

Carla has been an integral part of the AICPA since 2011, giving her direct insight into the emerging issues that influence the public accounting practice. She was named one of the AICPA’s Most Powerful Women in Accounting from 2020-2023.
