Westborough, MA (May 23, 2024) – AAFCPAs, a preeminent CPA and consulting firm, is pleased to announce that its Managing Partner, Carla McCall, CPA, CGMA, was elected to serve as the new Chair of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and Co-Chair of the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants, which combines the strengths of the AICPA and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).
Carla’s selection to leadership of the world’s largest member organization for accounting professionals reflects her ongoing commitment to driving change within the industry. In her role, she will serve as a global advocate and voice of the profession, with a focus on three priorities she believes are core to the evolution of accounting:
During her one-year tenure as Chair, Carla will continue to lead AAFCPAs with her customary dedication and attentiveness. The knowledge she gains through her exposure to colleagues and contacts around the world will add new energy and insights to the vibrant AAFCPAs culture.
“I’m honored to take on this role with such an influential global organization. It will allow me to share what I’ve learned with CPAs and CGMAs around the world and to bring back best practices and ideas about what’s to come for our clients, our people, and our networks,” Carla explained. “Our profession is uniquely equipped with incredible skills that help us make an impact on everyone we interact with. As Chair, I can further develop these gifts so that we can inspire both our clients and one another.”
Carla has been an integral part of the AICPA since 2011, giving her direct insight into the emerging issues that influence the public accounting practice. She was named one of the AICPA’s Most Powerful Women in Accounting from 2020-2023.
