Davide is the division leader of AAFCPAs’ specialized Employee Benefit Plan Audit & Consulting Practice and brings extensive expertise in ERISA standards. He delivers valuable audits efficiently through a specialized employee benefit plan audit team within our 350+ employee CPA and consulting firm. He audits and advises plan sponsors on ERISA compliance requirements including those associated with administering 401(k), 403(b), defined benefit, and health and welfare plans. He also provides proactive guidance to retirement plan fiduciaries, which helps to protect the financial integrity of employee benefit plans.
With more than two decades of experience, Davide has developed collaborative relationships with DOL and IRS officials, serving as a liaison for audit issues and providing unmatched communication and negotiations. He anticipates the DOL and IRS audit’s focus and assists through the DOL Voluntary Correction Program (VCP) and the IRS Employee Plans Compliance Resolution System (EPCRS). He leads forums for shared expertise and regularly presents training courses relating to improving the overall quality of ERISA/DOL audits. He is the former co-chair of the MSCPA’s ERISA Accounting & Auditing Committee and presents ERISA compliance and best practice training sessions for clients and membership associations including the MSCPA’s annual Employee Benefit Plan Conference. Davide is also a member of the AICPA Employee Benefit Plan Audit Quality Center Executive Committee and the AICPA Professional Ethics and Enforcement Committee, where he provides guidance and trains other CPAs on audit quality and reviews cases referred by the DOL for ethics violations.
Davide exclusively audits employee benefit plans. He serves as a technical resource for the firm on employee benefit plan auditing along with accounting and reporting issues and is the designated audit services partner for the firm’s Employee Benefit Plan Audit practice.
