Erin Cann, MBA

Erin is an experienced in-charge accountant responsible for executing financial statement audits and reviews for sophisticated nonprofit organizations including multi-service human and social services providers, charter schools and charter management organizations.

Erin leads audit planning and fieldwork, manages timelines, and ensures clients experience meaningful audits while meeting necessary financial reporting requirements. She assists management teams and senior auditors in assessing internal controls, identifying risks, and ensuring financial accuracy and transparency—and she communicates effectively to surpass expectations and reduce disruptions during audits. Erin collaborates closely with AAFCPAs’ tax and advisory professionals to maintain consistency across deliverables and offer tailored, efficient solutions.

Erin is a member of AAFCPAs’ Early Professional Insights Committee (EPIC), an internal advisory group of emerging professionals who represents a cross-section of departments and disciplines within the firm who share ideas to drive better business. She also participates in the firm’s audit innovation team, a group of professionals dedicated to advancing the adoption of transformative technologies that enhance audit quality, effectiveness, and client service.

Erin earned both her MBA and BS in Business Administration, Accounting & Finance from Nichols College, summa cum laude. She is an active #BisonPride alum, returning to campus annually for career fairs and engaging with students through AAFCPAs’ ambassador program, where she hosts events for the accounting club. Erin is working toward CPA licensure through AAFCPAs’ Zip2CPA program, which helps team members successfully manage & accelerate their achievement of becoming a Certified Public Accountant.
